Yes. MAC Homes offers a "Secure Reservation" option where you pay a down payment (typically 60% of the total) to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due before or on arrival, as agreed with the host.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), as well as mobile money payments through Paystack. All transactions are processed securely in Ghana Cedis (GHS).

How will I receive my booking confirmation?

Once payment is processed, you will receive a confirmation email at the address you provided during checkout. The email includes your booking reference, property details, check-in instructions, and host contact information.

What commission does MAC Homes charge hosts?

MAC Homes charges a 12% platform commission on each completed booking. This covers payment processing, platform maintenance, guest support, and marketing. You keep 88% of every booking.

Can I block dates on my property calendar?

Yes. Once your property is listed and approved, you can manage availability through your host dashboard. You can block specific dates for maintenance, personal use, or other reasons.

What is the MH Residency programme?

MH Residency is a subscription plan available to all MAC Homes users — both hosts and guests benefit. Hosts who subscribe unlock priority placement in search results and dedicated support. Guests who subscribe receive free-stay credits they can redeem on eligible bookings, plus early access to new listings and exclusive member rates. Each host listing must be individually enrolled before it participates.

Free-stay credits are issued as part of the MH Residency subscription and can only be used to offset the cost of eligible bookings. They cannot be transferred or withdrawn as cash.

How does the referral code work?

Share either with anyone — when a guest opens your link, the code is locked in automatically. They can also enter the code manually at checkout or when subscribing to MH Residency. You earn 5% commission when the booking or subscription is confirmed.

What happens to my commission if a referred booking is cancelled?

A 20% deduction is applied to your referral commission whenever a referred booking is cancelled — regardless of who initiated the cancellation. Of that 20%, 15% goes to the non-initiating party as compensation and 5% is a platform dispute fee. Your credits from other confirmed bookings are never affected.
